The power of song, the power of joining together in song: we send messages of social justice, peace, love, and unity from one heart to another on and off the stage. Pillow Song Portraits is an in-depth musical depiction of a person who has greatly contributed to society through his or her meaningful music and impactful career. Musical director and host Sarah Bowman works together with many musical guests to paint the whole portrait for the audience in concert form. It all starts with a unique story to bring us close to a cherished life lived, which allows us to consider our gifts and our unique contributions to society, too.

For every event, we invite a featured artist to select the subject of our portrait evening. It all starts with the sharing of ideas and recordings over inboxes and comes together as a demonstration of how we can build a better world and a better future through music.
