Wir leben in einer überaus herausfordernden Zeit, die vom Klimawandel und von vermehrten geopolitischen Krisen geprägt ist. Es liegt an uns allen, dass wir uns damit auseinandersetzen, wie wir unsere Zukunft und unser Zusammenleben künftig gestalten wollen. So vielseitig wie wir Menschen sind, so vielseitig sind auch die Strategien, wie wir mit dieser Frage umgehen. Von Klimajugend bis Klimaabkommen, von der technologischen Energiewende bis zum gesellschaftlichen Fortschritt und von der politischen Weltbühne bis in die eigene Stube – wir alle können quer durch die Gesellschaft einen Beitrag für eine bessere Zukunft leisten.

Im Rahmen des Projekts «Songs For Our Future» befassen sich 15 Songwriter*innen vertieft damit, wie sie persönlich in die Zukunft blicken. Dabei setzen sie es sich zur Aufgabe, ihre Gefühle, Wahrnehmungen, Ängste oder Hoffnungen in Form von Liedern zu verarbeiten und zu teilen. Musik ist ein Ventil, über das wir selbst die komplexesten Gefühle und individuellen Widersprüche nach aussen transportieren können – von Zynismus über Fatalismus bis zur Weltverbesserung, alles hat im Songwriting Platz. Unser Ziel ist es, die unterschiedlichsten Menschen anzusprechen und auf verschiedenen Wegen eine positive Grundhaltung zu erlangen, uns gegenseitig zu inspirieren und unser Vertrauen in den Gesellschaftsvertrag zu stärken.

Die beteiligen Songwriter*innen präsentieren ihren in den Workshops erarbeiteten Song am Samstag, 25. Mai 2024 am «Songs For Our Future»-Konzert auf der Chäslager-Bühne dem Publikum. Musikalisch unterstützt werden sie je nach Arrangement von Rafael Woll (Schlagzeug, Perkussion), Claudio Strebel (Bass), Roksana Smirnova (Piano), Misha Kalinin (Gitarre) & Sarah Bowman (Cello).

We live in challenging times characterized by climate change and increasing geopolitical crises. It is up to all of us to shape our future and how we live together in the future. Our response to this can be as diverse as we are as humans. From movements like “Friday for Future” to intergovernmental climate panels, from restructuring energy policies to social reform, and from the political world stage to our own homes – we can all contribute to a better future.

As part of the “Songs For Our Future” project, 15 songwriters will delve deeper into their perspective on the future. They set themselves the task of processing and sharing their feelings, exploring root causes, and examining fears and hope in the form of songs. Music is an outlet through which we can convey even the most complex feelings and individual contradictions to the outside world – from cynicism to fatalism to world improvement, everything has a place in songwriting. Our goal is to reach people on many levels and achieve a positive response in various ways, to inspire one another, and strengthen our trust in the social contract.

Participating songwriters will present the song they developed in the workshops to a supportive audience at the “Songs For Our Future” concert. This takes place at the Chäslager Stans on Saturday, May 25, 2024. Depending on the arrangement, they will be musically supported by Rafael Woll (drums, percussion), Claudio Strebel (bass), Roksana Smirnova (piano), Misha Kalinin (guitar) & Sarah Bowman (cello).

The course costs 180 Fr. per person. Including lunch on workshop days and dinner before the concert.
Songwriters can also apply for a scholarship.
